About us
Figure skating club TJ AKO Piestany was founded in 1990. During more than 20 years of it´s existence the club reached remarkable results at national and international competitions, several skaters from our club represented Slovakia at international level /Junior Grand Prix, Junior Worlds /
The most noticable results of our skaters are:
- 3.place at European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 /Monika Simančíková/
- 2.place at Sportland Trophy Budapest 2012 /Veronika Plačková/
- 15.place at Junior Worlds 2006, 2007 /Kristína Kabátová in pairs with Martin - Hanulák /
- 15.place at Junior Worlds 2011 /Monika Simančíková/
- 5. a 6.place at Junior Grand Prix /Monika Simančíková/
- 11 Slovak Champions at senior, junior, novice, juvenile levels /Jakub Kršňák, Katarína Brosková, Monika Simančíková, Andrea Simančíková/
- 14.place at European Championships, Sheffield 2012 /Monika Simančíková/
The club sessions are led by qualified coaches and we regularly cooperate with home and foreign experts for conditioning and ballet preparation of the skaters.
Since 1996 we organize International Figure Skating Camp attended by skaters of all levels from Slovakia, Czech republic, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia, Austria, Great Britain, Iceland, Croatia, Serbia etc. Many skaters come every year with their family members who like to enjoy the world famous spa and other attractions of Piestany.
In 2009 the club organized 17.Ondrej Nepela Memorial with cooperation of the Slovak Figure Skating Association and the City of Piestany.
